Voluntary Sector Training and Community Centre Projects
|
Six projects based around the County provide training for people with a disability, learning difficulties or unemployed and wanting to retrain. These projects are based in Melton Mowbray, Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley and Coalville and offer training in warehousing, computers, customer care, van driving, retail skills, textiles, catering, woodworking and many more.

Outreach work is undertaken by 2 projects in North West Leicestershire and Hinckley. These projects provide a play bus and a youth activities bus. They also give advice and assistance with employment, benefit issues, drug abuse issues, pregnancy testing and homelessness.

Nine projects are Community Centres which are placed around the County. The areas covered are Loughborough, Hinckley, Coalville and Moira. These projects provide a whole range of activities, child care, sports activities, educational and recreational courses and meeting places. Many of them can also be hired out for parties, events, weddings, etc.
