Consumer Direct is a telephone and online consumer advice service that is supported by local authorities and by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

They provide clear, practical first level advice to help consumers sort out problems and disagreements with suppliers of goods or services. These include: -

Issues with second hand cars
Dodgy workmanship
Services provided by mobile phone companies
Reporting dishonest traders and scams

Providing pre-shopping advice before you buy goods or services

Their trained advisers are ready to offer individual solutions for individual problems, however, they will refer complex enquiries or those requiring further action to Leicestershire Trading Standards if necessary.

The Consumer Direct number can also be called for complaints about Energy and Postal suppliers.
