Leicestershire CAF News
A part of The Early Help Systems Project programme announced this week, the CAF Team are pleased to confirm the new arrangements which are starting in December:
- Some changes to the named coordinator for each locality and their working hours;
- The relocation of coordinators from County Hall to work from a base within the locality they support.
Until arrangements are agreed in localities the Coordinators will:
- Convene TAFs only where there is high complexity, a service dispute or a parental dispute. (Other TAFs can be convened by practitioners using the resources on the website http://www.leics.gov.uk/commonassessmentframework
- Attend Reviews where there are the factors above, plus failure to progress and there is an immediate need and no identified lead service;
- Close cases where there has been no contact from the Lead Professional to the CAF team in the last 12 months and setting CAFs into 'sleep mode' if there has been no contact from the Lead Professional to the CAF team within 6 months.
- Continue to be contacted by the same phone numbers and email addresses.
This will be reviewed in February.

Sandra Woodward and Tracy Charlton, CAF Managers, will remain at County Hall and continue to have line management responsibility for the team, and together with Katharine Friedmann, CAF Administrator who will be responsible for processing new CAFs.
