About the Library

Hinckley Library is the main library in the Hinckley and Bosworth area and Carol Cowley, the library manager, is based here
It is a busy library on Lancaster Road next to the bus station.  Lift to mezzanine floor and Art Gallery and the library has wide aisles.

Ordnance Survey Mapping Service - New Service

Hinckley Library can deliver Site-Centred, customised maps for your building planning applications. There is a charge for this service. Ask library staff for more details about this new service. You can use Siteplans for:

  • Conveyancing
  • Home referencing
  • Presentations and reports
  • Property location plans

Ancestry Library Edition is available in this library free of charge to do family history research. For more informarion about this service visit our News & Events webpage.

  • You need a library card and a PIN to book the computer. You can book a computer either by visiting your local library or online.

Events

 Big Book Bash      Free Family drop in event  - part of the county's Family Learning Festival- on Saturday October  19th from 10am until  1pm Lots to make eg masks and modelling ideas based on traditional stories, Wizard Eater to show healthy eating ideas and Twisted Tales at the end of the event for over 7 year olds.

Wriggly Readers Story and Rhyme Time.  0-4 years with parents or carers.  
Every Tuesday. Two identical sessions 9.45 - 10.15 and 10.45 - 11.15 am during term time. Please choose one.
Chatterbooks.  A reading group for any 9 -12 year olds. who like to chat about books.  Meets most months after school
Introduction to Internet and Email.  Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 5.00pm.  One-to-one sessions by arrangement.
