![]() County ReserveCounty Reserve is a valuable resource with approximately 80,000 items in stock, which provides a back-up collection to libraries in Leicestershire and Rutland. Nearly all the collection is books, a good percentage of which are only copies!
Subjects the Reserve is particularly strong in are war, history, biography, crime, psychology, philosophy, the paranormal, transport, arts and crafts, theatre and cinema. Also the Reserve holds the Joint Fiction Reserve which is Leicestershire's contribution to a national scheme to ensure all fiction titles are available. Our responsibilty is letters H & J, so if you're interested in Thomas Hardy or Biggles ("Pea souper over the briny, Ginger!") we may have the book for you.
Most of the books are are on rolling stacks, so we are not open to the public for Health and Safety reasons, but you can access the stock in two ways:
All of the stock is on the catalogue and can be reserved via your local library.
If time is of the essence and you are a member of Leicestershire Libraries you can arrange to use our Call and Collect Service at your local library and come to the Reserve for the book yourself; this services operates 9:30-4:30, Monday-Friday.
The County Reserve also operates a much appreciated Reading Circles Service.
