Get involved - reading ideas for everyone

Reading at home

Have you done any of the following recently?
  • tried a new magazine or newspaper.
  • recommended a favourite book to family or friends.
  • asked family & friends to recommend a good read.
  • listened to an audio book whilest driving or doing the chores.
  • thought about joining a reading group.
  • read out to others a section that has made you laugh.
  • swapped magazines with a friend.
  • asked your children to choose a library book that they think you would enjoy.  

Reading at work

Could you do any of the following?
  • create an office or staff room book swap area.
  • create a reading notice board for book reviews, your own or from newspapers etc.
  • have a magazine swap box.
  • start a lunch time reading group, your local library can help.

Reading tree

Why not start your own reading tree at work or at school or add to the reading tree at your local library?
Download the leaf PDF and fill it in.  Take it to your local library or start your own reading tree.  It's a great way to share book recommendations.
