Record Office Research ServiceWhatever your research interest . . . . . .we are here to help
Your research will be carried out by an experienced researcher who is familiar with all sources held in the Record Office. When microfilm or microfiche is unclear the original registers will be used wherever possible. You will then receive a typed report which will give details and references of the sources used, full details of the results of the search and suggestions for further research with addresses if necessary.Copies of research are kept and filed so that you can have further work carried out at anytime.
Research is undertaken on an hourly basis, with a minimum of one hour, payable in advance. Cost is £25 for first hour (inclusive of V.A.T.). £20 for subsequent hours.
A personal consultation is available for those who have a problem with their research. Cost per half hour is £10 (inclusive of V.A.T.).
For research to be undertaken on your behalf you need to submit a Research Service Form, which you should complete, sign and return to the Record Office with your payment. The form is available in word and Adobe PDF format from the following links.
