Mining Lives

At Snibston we have a nationally-important group of colliery buildings, and we want to create exhibitions within and around them to bring to life the history of the local coal mining community.  The history of these buildings is detailed here
Helmet in lamproomWe currently offer tours of these buildings with ex-miners which is extremely popular but can only be enjoyed by about 10% of our visitors.  This proposal will look at ways to make the colliery buildings more accessible to more people, and will ensure their preservation for future generations.
