Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of a child or of welcoming an adopted or step child into a new family, or a new family environment.
Each ceremony is individually designed with your own input and participation welcomed. It can be a civil baptism; it can take place immediately after the marriage ceremony to bring new family members together, or it can take place at any time in the life of a child or a young person as you refresh or renew your promises to them.
Ceremonies can be held at the County Register Office, one of the five Registration offices across the County or at one of Leicestershire’s approved venues.
You can include your own promises to your children, or their grandparents’ promises to them. You can include special readings or selection of music, parents’ vows to each other, the presentation of gifts to children or the reinforcement of undertaking from absent guests.
For more information on arranging Naming Ceremony please telephone us (01530) 832007 or email registration@leics.gov.uk
