Nationality Checking Service

The Leicestershire Registration Service, in partnership with the Home Office, is now offering a checking service for British nationality application forms.
Applicants for British citizenship are able to visit, by appointment, to have their applications checked by staff trained by the Home Office and registered by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.  The completed applications plus the appropriate fee will then be forwarded to the Home Office by secure registered post. All the supporting documentation required for citizenship will be copied and certified by our staff in order that original passports etc remain in their owner’s safekeeping.
Using the Nationality Checking Service is optional and is by prior appointment only.

The fees for this service are:
  • Single Adult - £45
  • Married Couple - £80
  • Child (under 18) - £23
The service is available to non-Leicestershire residents.
Use of this service does not mean that applications to the Home Office for Citizenship will be 'fast tracked'.
Applications may still be sent directly to the Home Office or via a solicitor or agent.
