Environmental Testing
Surface and Ground Water
Surface and ground water are generally sampled for environmental reasons such as pollution control, source identification or amenity value. Investigations include long term monitoring to detect any possible contamination at an early stage or can be restricted to one-off samples.
Plant and Soil Analysis
We offer analysis of nutrients, phytotoxins, pesticide and herbicide residues in soil and plant samples. Scientific staff can advise on soil sampling.
Contaminated Land
A complete service for the assessment of contaminated or derelict land prior to redevelopment or reclamation can be provided. The laboratory can become involved at any stage in the investigative process.
Testing for traffic pollutants
NOX testing is available through our partnership with Staffordshire Scientific Services. We have been carrying out such testing for over ten years. We participate in the NETCEN quality control scheme. What is NOX and why is it a problem?
NOX is the term for highly reactive nitrogen oxides which are formed when fuel is burned at high temperatures – in vehicles and other industrial and domestic sources. NOX is involved in the formation of Ozone at ground level. It can cause smog, acid rain, respiratory problems and lead to global warming.
We currently carry out NOx tube analysis for sites located throughout Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, London, Brighton, Dubai and New Zealand.
