This has been another record breaking year for Leicestershire after youngsters collected the best ever GCSE results. Provisional results from schools show 74% of students achieved five or more A* - C grades in any subject.
Key stage 3 results (for 14 year olds) are amongst the top 5% in the country with 88% of young people reaching the level 5 benchmark in English, Maths and Science. Our primary schools are also improving with 82% of pupils achieving the benchmark in English and Maths and Science.
Leicestershire is consistently above the national average for the educational Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 - 3 with over 200 (70%) schools being rated by OfSTED as Outstanding or Good.
