Arts in Education ServiceYouth TheatreArts in Education run a variety of youth theatre and drama opportunities for young people. These groups run on a project basis, with each project culminating in a public performance or showcase presentation. All projects are open access. This means there are no auditions, a commitment to work in a team and enthusiasm are the chief requirements for membership. Prior to the start of each project there are two taster workshops so that new members can 'test the water' and decide if they would like to join. All the youth theatre groups are held at Knighton Fields Centre.
Arts Award is a national scheme and accredits achievements for young people aged 11-25. Anyone joining a youth theatre group could join the scheme.

We are also continually developing short theatre courses, which run in the evening or holidays. These will be posted on the website as they are generated, so watch this space for the latest updates or phone in registering your interest so we can put you on the mailing list. Some areas covered in the past include: theatre design - settings, costume, publicity and lighting.
Teachers and youth workers who would like to develop their expertise or offer existing expertise to our youth theatre activities contact David Cross Advisory Teacher for Drama at Knighton Fields Centre for further information or email dcross@leics.gov.uk
