Changes to Instrumental Tuition
Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service (LSMS) is moving forward with a number of changes to enable it to take the lead role in the Music Education Hub and fulfill the requirements of the National Plan for Music Education.
From September 2012, the Service has been focusing on delivering Whole Class Ensemble Teaching, (WCET leaflet pdf. 514kb), a continuation of Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (WCET Continuation leaflet pdf. 388kb), progression through local and central ensembles along with leadership of the Music Education Hub.
If you have all the information you need and want to request a WCET Project, please complete the form below.

As part of our singing strategy, we are also offering Vocal-Ease (pdf. 437kb) - a three-phase programme aimed at increasing the confidence of your staff in teaching singing whilst engaging all pupils in full choral activities and large scale performances. Vocal-Ease is also subsidised through the Arts Council, making it very cost-effective.
Small group and individual tuition is now offered through the Associate scheme by self-employed music instructors. Further details about Associate Teachers (instruments and areas taught, contact details to arrange tuition etc), can be found by opening the spreadsheet below.
Alternately, Parents / Carers should contact their child's school to arrange individual instrumental tuition.
Information regarding this change was sent out to all Parent / Carers in January 2012 in the letter below.
Changes will gradually be made to this website to reflect the changes in the Service. A new website with details of service activities and the Leicestershire Music Education Hub is currently under construction and is planned to go live at the beginning of the summer term.
