Leicestershire County Council has launched an extended helpline for families living across the county. The new Family Information Service provides advice, guidance and information to parents of 0 – 19 year olds.
The previous Children’s Information Service supported families for over nine years, providing information and advice on childcare. The revamped Family Information Service now advises on a range of different subjects - from healthy eating, through to play and leisure activities for the whole family. Staffed by a team of information specialists, this new helpline is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for parents and carers in Leicestershire. Its manager, Jackie Cockcroft explains: “We aim to provide parents with reliable, comprehensive information throughout their entire family cycle – all the way from birth into young adulthood. Our goal is to ensure that parents and carers across Leicestershire have access to a full range of parenting support services. Our service works closely with our partners such as Children’s Centres, Connexions and Health Visitors to ensure that parents have access to all the help and information they may need." Please Call 0116 305 6545 or email family@leics.gov.uk for any advice or guidance you may require.
