About the team and its services

The Numeracy team provides curriculum support in numeracy for primary schools.  The team works on the national agenda for numeracy as well as LA identified needs.  
For primary schools, the team provides:
  • Mathematics subject leader development group meetings.
  • Consultancy to individual schools.
  • Guidance and dissemination of good practice through the 'Mathsweb' website.
  • Termly newsletters.
  • Centrally organised support from Leading Maths Teachers.
  • Mentoring for new mathematics Subject Leaders, teachers new to KS1 and Year 6 and NQTS.
  • Central training related to key local and national priorities.
