Coleorton Wood

Location

Approximately 3 miles north-west of Coalville, 1 mile off the A511, North West Leicestershire

Description

A six-hectare mixed, young woodland planted during the early days of The National Forest. It is on the site of the former "Bug and Wink" colliery.

Small Tortoishell butterflies (Aglais urticae) can be seen at Coleorton Wood
