Recycling & Reuse Credits
|
Recycling and Reuse Credits![]() Are you a Charity, Community Group or Not-For-Profit Organisation?Do you collect materials for Recycling or Reuse? You might be eligible to get paid for every tonne of material that you collect for recycling or reuse!Leicestershire County Council works closely with the community sector in pursuit of the Leicestershire Waste Partnership's vision of sustainable waste and resource management encouraging waste prevention and reuse initiatives.
By providing support to the community and voluntary sector it will be possible to increase the amount that is currently recycled or reused by community & voluntary groups.
What are Recycling Credits? When waste is recycled rather than sent to landfill, Leicestershire County Council makes a saving on the cost of disposing of the waste and then passes this saving onto groups who recycle household waste.
![]() Who can claim?Community, charity, voluntary and not-for-profit groups that collect materials for recycling.
Items such as paper, textiles, cans, glass or plastic bottles are all possibilities.
What are Reuse Credits?Reuse credits are paid to community, charity, voluntary and not-for-profit groups who collect household items, which are then reused and redistributed within the community. This prevents items being sent to landfill and the savings are passed onto groups as Reuse Credits.
