Festive RecyclingAt various times of the year we generate more waste than normal visit the festive recycling page for some tips to help you reduce the waste being generated or information about how you can recycle some of the materials.
Mobile Phone RecyclingMany mobile phones can be reused, if they are not in a suitable condition for reuse they should be recycled to ensure that the mobile phone is disposed of safely as components such as the rechargeable battery and LCD display have toxic components. Recycling & Household Waste SitesDid you know that your local Recycling & Household Waste Site has battery recycling, fluorescent tube recycling and plastic bag recycling facilities?
All sites having recycling facilities for cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, wood, fridges, white goods, tv’s, computer monitors, small electrical appliances, glass, scrap metals, mobile phones, garden waste, car batteries, used engine oil, textiles, aluminium foil and hard plastics (e.g. cds, video cassettes, garden furniture, flower pots and washing-up bowls). Real NappiesLeicestershire County Council has several schemes to assist residents in minimising the waste they produce these include the Real Nappy Cashback Scheme where you can claim £30 cashback for the Real Nappy purchases you have made, whereas the Real Nappy Trial Kit enables you to try the different types of Real Nappy for 2 weeks to see which suits you and your child best.
