Leicestershire Highways is the trading arm of the Highways, Transportation and Waste Management Department of Leicestershire County Council. The primary business is the efficient and effective delivery of best value highways services to our clients.

It directly employs over 200 trained operatives, backed up by a professionally and technically qualified management structure. Leicestershire Highways has both the expertise and professional experience to provide a comprehensive range of services in highway construction, highway maintenance and associated activities.

As a Quality assured (BSI Accreditation) organisation, Leicestershire Highways is committed to providing its customers with the highest standard of service. Its policy of continuous improvement means that Leicestershire Highways invests in the on-going training of its employees and is proactively involved in the development of new and innovative techniques and processes. Leicestershire Highways also utilises environmentally friendly practices in its pursuit of improving service delivery.

Leicestershire Highways recognise that occupational health and safety is an integral part of a good overall management system.  It is the intention to maintain health and safety at all levels of the organisation to ensure that we are meeting both our legal and moral duties as an employer.

Leicestershire Highways employs a full time qualified Health and Safety advisor to ensure health and safety maintains a high profile within the organisation.

Leicestershire Highways (formerly Leicestershire DLO and Highway Design and Maintenance) have an accredited Quality System since 1991 and is part of the Department of Highways, Transportation and Waste Management within Leicestershire County Council.
