Transport Scheme Guidance Notes: Frequently Asked Questions:

If after you submit a transport application your child/ward doesn't take up their place at college please let us know and we will cancel the transport request. If your child/ward has been issued with a travel pass and you cancel your travel assistance with us you remain responsible for the full value of the travel pass until it is returned to the Authority. Travel passes are to be returned by recorded delivery.
If you cancel any payment plan, but fail to notify us (in writing) that transport is not required we will continue to seek payment
You can view the guidance notes for each transport scheme as a series of Frequently Asked Questions, or if you wish there is a print friendly version of the guidance notes for you to print out. (Please see below)
You may only use the application form to apply for one transport scheme. If you wish to be considered for a second scheme you will need to submit a separate application. If you are unsure which scheme to apply for please contact our Customer Service Centre on 0116 305 0002 or e-mail customerservices@leics.gov.uk for further advice.
If your child/ward received Voluntary Aided Transport last year and there has been no change of address and/or school and they will be under 16 on the 1st September 2013, you should apply again for the ‘Voluntary Aided’ scheme option.
If your child/ward is going into their second year of 6th form study and qualified for assisted transport last year and there has been no change to their address, school or courses studied, you should re-apply for the 'Assisted Transport for 16 -19 year olds' scheme.
if your child/ward received Farepaying Transport last year and there has been no change of address and/or school and they will be under 16 on the 1st September 2013, or if they will be in their second year of sixth form study and there has been no change of school, address or courses studied, you should apply again for the ‘Farepaying’ scheme option.

School Transport Payments

Please note, Online Recurring Payments, where payment is taken directly from the credit/debit card you register with us, have replaced Direct Debits and are the only method of payment available when you make an online application. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds on your card to cover the one-off or monthly school transport payments. Payment is usually processed on or about the 18th of the month (this will be the 18th September for applications received during the summer).
Please note that outstanding debts will continue to be pursued, even after children have been excluded, and that until the outstanding debt is cleared any subsequent requests for home to school transport for this child or any brothers and sisters will be declined.
