Adult and Children’s Social Care Transport

If you need transport related to the social care of an adult or child, you may be entitled to assistance from the County Council. The Passenger Transport Unit administers this service but in the first instance you should contact an Access Worker at your local Social Care Office.
For Adults Only: Our proposed strategic approach - Your comments are welcome
Leicestershire County Council provides assisted transport through a variety of options to people with learning disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with physical disabilities and older persons across Leicestershire.
This draft policy explains the way in which we propose to deliver those services, and outlines how we propose to move towards a consistent and equitable way of supporting older people, adults with disabilities and/or mental ill health and support for carers in provision of Leicestershire County Council assisted transport.
The draft policy is consistent with the Departmental strategic aims and outcomes, and was noted by the Council Cabinet in Dec 2009, however, before it is implemented we would welcome comments on the accuracy of the proposed policy. Please email comments to tine.juhlert@leics.gov.uk by 27th May 2010.
