'New Household Sustainable Travel Packs'

New County home owners encouraged to think green with Leicestershire County Council.

Leicestershire County Council are working with local housing developers to provide a local transport travel information pack, ‘New Household Local Sustainable Travel Pack’, which will be distributed to new home owners within selected developer supported new developments across the County.

Designed to encourage the adoption of sustainable transport, contained within the pack are sustainable transport options for the local area.

Advice on local transport bus services, cycle routes, taxi information, walking maps and journey planning guidance.

Also normally contained within the pack are application forms provided by the local bus operator for two free 3 months bus passes to encourage sustainable transport.

Leicestershire County Council hope to work with future countywide developers to develop a roll out program and encourage public to embrace a healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Adopting one of these travel alternatives will aim to also help people save money in petrol costs in doing so it is hoped that road pollution and congestion can also be reduced.
