Appendix H: Air quality management areas

Section AQ1: Introduction

1.1  Air quality management areas (AQMA) are areas identified by local authorities where legal national air quality standards are not being met or are not expected to be met by the end of 2005.
1.2  In Leicestershire, the district councils are responsible for identifying and designating AQMAs. Link to the AQMAs in Leicestershire (including Leicester City) are given in Section AQ2.
