Countesthorpe, Winchester Road (near Leysland Avenue)Local Safety Improvement Scheme - Proposed Zebra Crossing and Speed CushionsBackgroundRecently, there has been a number of personal injury accidents involving school children along Winchester Road in the vicinity of Leysland High School. As part of a programme to improve pedestrian safety and reduce road traffic accidents it was proposed to install a zebra crossing with a set of speed cushions either side of the crossing along with school signing improvements.The Proposals

Scheme Objectives
Results of ConsultationConsultations took place in August 2007 and over 80% of respondents were in support of the scheme.Full details of the consultation were reported to County Councillors and they decided that the scheme should proceed. ConstructionConstruction was completed in January 2008.
