
WWI Medals belonging to father and son

Details: The 1914 – 18 War Medal and Victory Medal of a father and son, they both served in the same battalion, the 1/5th Leicestershire Regiment. James Henry Biddles, the father and husband of Sarah Biddles, of 6, Queen's St., Loughborough. A L/Cpl aged 39, he was killed on 20th July 1915 and is buried at Sanctury Wood (So called because once behind the wood they could not be seen by the enemy gunners) His son, also
called James Henry was killed 3 months later on 13th October 1915. He has no known grave and his name is on one of the panels at the Loos Memorial. Their names are together on the Loughborough War Memorial Tower. Themes: Conflict Find
