The Research Governance Framework (RGF)
Background
Over the years there have been a number of stories in the media about the distress caused when research in health or social care has not been carried out to high standards.
In response to this, the Department of Health (DH) published the “Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care.”A second edition was released in 2010".
All research on Health and Social Care undertaken by anyone within Leicestershire and Rutland needs to adhere to the Framework.
You should consider how you are going to carry out your consultation and plan this at the beginning of your project. The Strategic Planning and Commissioning Team are available for support and can offer a one hour session at the beginning of your project. If you are consulting on something that involves a decision, you should carry out your consultation before that decision is made.
