Direct Payments - enabling you to organise your own social care

Arranging your own care

What is a Direct Payment?

A direct payment is money given directly to you to arrange your own care or to employ Personal Assistants. Direct Payments offer the choice and flexibility to manage your own care arrangements. The services you can buy are services that would otherwise be provided by the Adult Social Care Service. They are services that you have been assessed as needing when you have had an assessment.
The Direct Payments Information Leaflet (.pdf)  and the Direct Payments Video give information on What Direct Payments are, How to apply and How they can be used.
