Welcome to the Leicestershire Lieutenancy Web Pages

Leicestershire as other Counties has a Lord-Lieutenant who is The Queen’s representative in the County, and the present Lord-Lieutenant is Jennifer, Lady Gretton JP.
The Lord-Lieutenant appoints Deputy Lieutenants to assist her, and appoints one of these as the Vice Lord-Lieutenant who undertakes such duties as the Lord-Lieutenant determines, and represents her when she is absent or otherwise unable to act.  The current Vice Lord-Lieutenant is Mr. Richard Everard DL.
The Lord-Lieutenant, Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants are collectively referred to as the Lieutenancy.  Further information on the Lord-Lieutenant and other Lieutenancy matters and procedures are provided in the following pages
