Council Spending

The County Council approved the 2007/08 budget on 20th February 2008.

This section contains details of the revenue budgets and the capital programmes. The budgets and capital programmes will enable the continued implementation of the priorities set out in the Medium Term Corporate Strategy

The Account Statements set out the published statement of accounts of the Authority year on year. The accounts have been produced in line with the various regulations that govern local authority accounting.

Most of the cost of local services is met by the Government in the formula grant and business rates. On average a third of the cost of local services is met by Council Tax. The Council Tax is a tax on residents in an area.
