How do we buy?Category ManagementThe Council is currently in the process of stregthening its Corporate Procurement Unit with a view to implementing a new category management structure from January 1 2008.

Current Purchasing ArrangementsThe purchasing of commonly used goods and services is currently arranged, on the Council’s behalf by the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) a consortium of 7 member authorities including Leicestershire. ESPO supplies goods and services via its catalogue, via direct supply contracts or via its numerous framework agreements. Specialist PurchasesMore specialist purchases are handled by individual Departments, sometimes with the support of ESPO.
