![]() Have Your SayConsultations and Public InvolvementMaking Your Voice HeardThe County Council is committed to consulting the public, its service users, partners and other interested groups as part of providing effective services that meet the needs of the people of Leicestershire.
Consultation is essentially about two-way communication. It's about involving people to gain an understanding of their ideas, concerns and opinions. By seeking your views and then acting on the results, the Council can ensure that its services better reflect your needs and aspirations.
Our commitment to ConsultationThe Council's Medium Term Corporate Strategy, which sets out the Council's longer term objectives and priorities for improvements, states that "It is important that the people of Leicestershire can influence decisions affecting the services we provide, and express their views on those services. This will help us to achieve our aim of promoting diversity in the services we deliver. In order to take their views into account we will continue to improve the co-ordination of consultation within the Council and with our partners".
To support this the Council approved a set of Consultation Standards in April 2005 to guide its approach to consulting and involving the public and its service users.
