Leicestershire’s Voice Explained
- The panel is representative of the people of Leicestershire and is made up of 1500 people of different ages and backgrounds
- It is a chance for you to have your say about County Council services, plans and policies
- Panel members are sent questionnaires to fill in
- The questions will be about local public services but will sometimes include other services provided by the Council and partner agencies, for example, the health service or the police
- Panel members may, from time to time, be invited to take part in group discussions or workshops, but this is optional. Its is up to you if you want to take part
How much of my time will it take?
- Panel members fill in 4 or 5 questionnaires a year
- Each questionnaire takes about 20 minutes – so in total about a couple of hours of your time in the whole year!
It is important because: -
- It is an opportunity for you to have some influence over the decisions that the Council makes about where you live
- We need the views of all different ages and communities so that we can improve services for everyone
What happens to the results?
- The survey findings tell us what you think about services. These findings are used to help inform decisions the Council makes about services
- The information also helps us to decide how to develop policies and put together action plans so that we can improve things
- Panel members get a newsletter telling them what the results were and what the Council is doing about them
