Coronavirus updates for parts of Leicestershire

On Monday 12 October the Government announced local Covid alert levels.

See: Local COVID alert levels: what you need to know

All parts of Leicestershire are currently medium covid alert level, except Oadby and Wigston, which is high and has additional restrictions in place. Leicester (city) is also high.

The latest data for Leicestershire continues to show an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in all parts of the county.

We're currently urging residents in these areas to follow the government advice on social distancing, hand washing, face coverings and to get a test if you have symptoms.

We're also sending a leaflet to some residents, in places that have shown a concerning number of cases or steep rise, asking people to get tested if they have coronavirus symptoms. Residents in these areas may also receive a text from their GP. If you receive a text message, please make sure you follow the important advice.
