As a result, the following changes to recycling and household waste sites were agreed:New opening timesEach of our 14 recycling and household waste sites will open five days per week throughout the year:• October to March, 9am – 4pm• April to September, 9am – 7pmCheck opening days and times of the recycling and household waste sitesCharges for non-household itemsFrom 4 May 2016, recycling and household waste sites will charge to accept some ‘non-household’ waste.Payments will be on site by credit or debit card.Example chargeable itemsChargeHardcore, rubble and soil£3 per tub (or part tub)*Concrete slab/post£3 eachBathroom furniture (bath, basin, toilet, shower tray etc.£3 per item or per tub (or part tub)*Roof tiles, slates, ceramic wall and floor tiles£3 per tub (or part tub)*Whole sheets or broken window glass£3 per unit or tub (or part tub)*Plasterboard£3 per sheet up to 1.8 x 0.9m, or per tub*Cement bonded asbestos**£10 per sheet up to 2.4 x 1.2m, or per tub**A tub is roughly the size of a large bucket.**A permit is required for cement bonded asbestos.Find out more about the chargesWe will continue to recycle your ‘household’ waste for free.This includes any small electrical items, plastic, metal, glass bottles or jars, cooking oil, green waste and paint* among other items.* From April 2016, a free of charge permit will be required to dispose of paint.
