Proposed changes to short break adult social care facilities

Have your say on proposed changes to short breaks (respite care) services for people with learning disabilities in Leicestershire

This consultation runs from 10 May until midnight 20 June 2021.

In March 2021 the county council cabinet approved a consultation which proposes to consolidate more short-break services at The Trees social care facility in Hinckley. It is proposed that The Trees, which recently underwent a £1.1m refurbishment, could be developed to provide an extra 12 short break rooms for adults with learning difficulties.

Alongside the proposed extension of services, the county council is proposing to close the outdated and lesser used Smith Crescent short break facility in Coalville. Due to limitations of the facilities a decreasing number of people have been able to use Smith Crescent in recent years for their respite care.

You can submit your views from 10 May and will end at midnight on 20 June 2021.

Have your say

To submit your views, please read the consultation summary document and then fill out the questionnaire and make sure it reaches us by midnight on Sunday 20 June at the latest.
