We are a forward-thinking, intelligence-led service and we have opportunities for Trading Standards Officers to join us to support local businesses to compete fairly and identify and tackle matters that present the most risk to Leicestershire consumers.
We are committed to the continuing professional development of our teams, offering support and training to progress officers' careers within Trading Standards.
At Leicestershire County Council we offer a flexible, hybrid way of working. This includes working from home, although depending on the role and team, some office working or site visits may be necessary.
Trading Standards is a diverse and varied profession, helping to protect the public and honest businesses from rogue traders and illegal practices.
You’ll be supporting local businesses by providing advice such as product safety, animal health and feed, weights and measures and food standards.
You will inspect businesses including food and feed manufacturers, shops, pubs, petrol stations, farms and airport consignments and learn to identify non-complying businesses. You will undertake investigations which may lead to prosecutions and require your attendance at court to give your evidence.
If you have a licensing, enforcement, compliance, or investigation experience we would love to hear from you.
