Melton Carnegie Museum

Melton Carnegie Museum offers educational services for visitors and we invite schools and groups to contact us to plan a visit to the museum.


The Community Archive at Melton Carnegie Museum is temporarily unavailable while we change some of our spaces around. For any local history enquiries please contact Leicestershire Record Office.

General admission to the museum is free

  • No entry charge for individuals visiting the museum
  • A charge may be made for school groups

The museum re-opened fully in late 2010 following a major renovation creating:

  • a state-of-the-art gallery
  • study area and community space for schools, volunteers and community groups

The museum features displays on:

  • local history
  • trades
  • foxhunting - the museum also has an extensive library of fox-hunting literature
  • rural life

Gifts and books related to the local area are available from the museum shop.
