Travel clinics are being held across Leicestershire to encourage residents to cycle or walk to work or school where possible.

Leicestershire County Council is holding three free travel advice events to help more residents make the change to walking, cycling and scooting for everyday journeys. Free bike checks and security markings will be available at the events, along with electric bike trials and travel advice.

The first event is being held at Watermead Country Park (main entrance) on Saturday 5 September, the team will also be at St Andrews Church, Leicester Forest East on Saturday 12th September and Welland Park, Market Harborough on Saturday 19th September. The team will be available between 12pm – 4pm at each event.

Social distancing measure will be in place at the event and pre-booking is required for bike check-ups and the electric bike try outs. Book today and find out more about the events here: www.choosehowyoumove.co.uk/events/

Since lockdown there has been a huge increase in people cycling, and we want to support them. These events are a great opportunity for keen cyclists and those who have got back on their bikes during lockdown to make sure their bikes are safe and help them continue to travel actively.

By making it easier for people to walk or cycle safely, we’re helping to make Leicestershire a greener, healthier and happier place to live.

Alongside these events, the county council are continuing to work on their temporary cycle lanes throughout the county.

The county council is really keen to hear from residents about local areas which they think would benefit from walking and cycling schemes.
