Council welcomes Active 10 campaign launch

App is now available to encourage people to walk briskly

Leicestershire County Council has welcomed the launch of Public Health England's Active 10 campaign.

The work we commission in public health encourages people to be more active. We know that helping people to be healthier now will pay dividends in the future as well as reducing costs to the health service and other parts of the public and private sector.”

Around 50,000 people across the country are already on their way to a healthier lifestyle as they have downloaded the Active 10 app.

The free app shows how much brisk walking is being done, when the pace can be increased and how more brisk walking can be fitted into a day.
