Preparations are well underway at Beacon Hill Country Park for this year’s Countryside Show.
Building on the success of the previous four shows, the popular event is set to make its return on Bank Holiday Monday, 26 August. The latest addition to the line-up, Archery Legends, are set to have visitors a quiver with their have-a-go archery sessions.
Taking place at one of the county’s most iconic parks, the show boasts a unique line-up balancing the very best of countryside life, a food marketplace where you can taste some of the best freshly crafted local produce Leicestershire has to offer, live music and craft stalls.
We aim to build on the success of last year’s show through having a varied programme which highlights the skills, talent, craft and local produce we have in Leicestershire.
“People attending the show will also be able to visit the newly opened Beacon Hill Café which is the first of our developments to help make our green spaces in the county more sustainable.Person:Councillor Byron Rhodes, deputy leader of the county council
The show also welcomes back the Extreme Mountain Bike Show, Paws For Thought dog agility show, Clwyd Axeman the lumberjack and shire horse and bird-of-prey demonstrations.
Tickets for the show also include a wealth of free children’s activities, such as tree climbing, bird box building, wall climbing and a Punch and Judy show.
More than 100 exhibitors, charities and community groups will be there with demonstrations and products, while a craft marquee will be filled with handmade items to browse and buy.
The event will run from 9.30am to 5pm. A 30 per cent discount is available on all tickets purchased before midday on Friday, 23 August. These tickets are £8 for adults, £6 for concessions and £24 for a family ticket.
Ticket prices include show entry, children’s activities car parking and an event programme.
