Don’t miss out – sign up for GoLearn courses

Early bird discount available until 1 September

Two people going discussing the GoLearn courses on offer

Time is running out for Leicestershire residents to save 20 per cent on fees for hundreds of part-time day, evening and weekend courses available this autumn.

The discount on the GoLearn adult learning courses ends on Tuesday, 1 September.

This year’s GoLearn courses will run differently due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. Many classes have been moved online, but there are courses  that still offer some classroom-based learning with steps taken to ensure centres are safe for staff and learners.

Courses on offer range from one-off two-hour sessions to 15-week courses and full 30-week programmes including modern languages, British Sign Language, English for speakers of other languages (ESOL), digital skills, pottery, Indian cookery, astronomy, yoga, chocolate craft, drawing and painting, textiles and confidence building.

For the first time this year, GoLearn is offering the new essential digital skills qualification, which is aimed at complete beginners and offers a stepping stone to more advanced IT courses and qualifications.

There are also free courses available for people who are seeking work and looking to gain basic skills, including planning first steps towards employment, increasing confidence, help with job search, CV writing and interview skills.

The GoLearn courses can make a real difference to people’s lives. There are courses designed to help learners get back into the job market, improve their maths and English, support their children’s learning and improve their health and wellbeing.

“The 20 per cent early bird discount on course fees is a great opportunity to try something different and learn a new skill. I would encourage people to look at the courses on offer and enrol before the deadline of 1 September to make sure they don’t miss out.

Those interested can search and enrol online courses by visiting www.leicestershire.gov.uk/golearn
