'Excellent' news about Queen's Baton Relay

The iconic baton will travel through Loughborough, including the university, and Market Bosworth

Queen's Baton Relay

County council leader Nick Rushton has welcomed the announcement of the route for the Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay which takes in Loughborough, including the university, and Market Bosworth.

The baton's epic journey will include a visit to Loughborough on the afternoon of Monday, 11th July and to Market Bosworth on Thursday, 21st July.

It’s excellent news that Leicestershire will be visited by the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay.

If the response to the Olympic Torch Relay back in 2012 is anything to go by, I’m sure that the communities involved will be fully wrapped up in the excitement of the relay and will cheer the incredible Batonbearers as they make their way to the Opening Ceremony for Birmingham 2022.
