We have teamed up with the Woodland Trust to increase the number of trees and hedges across the county.
The county council is offering landowners and farmers, across Blaby District, Charnwood Borough and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Councils, two free schemes aimed at increasing tree and woodland cover along with hedgerows for improving habitat connectivity.
The schemes include:
A MOREhedges pack – a minimum of 100m of new hedgerow, plus 25 trees with canes and guards
A MOREwoods pack – free trees and shrubs to plant a woodland, starting at 0.5 ha (1.25 acres) in size
The application deadline for both schemes is the end of January 2019, and trees and hedges must be planted by mid-March 2019.
We are delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust to provide free trees and hedgerows to farmers and landowners across Hinckley and Bosworth, Charnwood and Blaby.
Trees and hedges have an important role to play in keeping our air clean, helping to prevent flooding and providing valuable habitats for local wildlife.
