Great response from Oadby and Wigston residents

Public health director thanks people for getting tested

Door handle - linked to coronavirus

We want to thanks residents in Oadby and Wigston for playing their part in tackling coronavirus.

We're asking all residents to have a test, if they have symptoms - and urging people in certain parts of the borough to get tested, whether they have symptoms or not.

Our director of public health, Mike Sandys, has thanked people for their response.

There has been a fantastic response in Oadby and Wigston – and all slots at our mobile test centre were filled yesterday and we’d like to thank everyone who has been tested so far.

If you’ve had a text message from your GP, or a leaflet from your council, please visit or call 119 to book a test at a local test centre – even if you haven’t had any symptoms.

The current test centre at Parklands Leisure Centre is very busy, but please keep trying, as slots are released throughout the day, and you’ll be able to able to book a second test centre which is open from tomorrow at the council offices in Wigston.

People who can’t get out to a test centre, can order a testing kit to be sent to their home – again on and by calling 119.
