Inspirational teens to be celebrated

Young people’s achievements will be celebrated at the tenth annual Lord Lieutenant’s awards for young people at County Hall on 22 April.

Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Lady Gretton JP, will present awards from 6pm in the Members' Lounge, County Hall, in the following categories:

Nominated in the Young Braveheart of the Year category:

  • Mohammed Arshad Daud, 17, from Leicester
  • Dylan Mathieson-Dodd, 17, from North Kilworth
  • Lucy Sharp, 14, from Sileby

Nominated in the Young Volunteer of the Year category:

  • Lucie Burgess, 16, from Lubenham
  • Charlotte Hussey, 18 from Hinckley
  • Reece Squire, 17, from Leicester

Nominated in the Young Artist of the Year category:

  • Elizaveta Manoshkina, 15, from Ratcliffe on the Wreake                               
  • Jess O’Brien, 14, from Market Harborough                                          
  • Meghna Thakrar, 16, from Oadby

Nominated in the Most Improved Young Sports Person of the Year category:

  • William Bell, 14, from Mountsorrel
  • Grace Hammond, 17, from Loughborough
  • Lizzie Warner, 17 from Glenfield

Nominated in the Young Writer of the Year category:

  • Vishal Dabba, 13, from Leicester
  • Anika Goddard, 14, from Leicester
  • Lucia Guzy-Kirkden, 13, from Leicester

The finalists were nominated by friends, family and professionals for their hard work, talent and commitment. One of the category winners will then receive the Lord Lieutenant’s Young Person of the Year Award.
