The county council is running ‘find out about fostering' events this month, welcoming prospective foster carers keen to make a difference to children's lives.
The first of the two events is at County Hall on Wednesday (2nd May) from 6.30pm, with the second event on Thursday, 24th May, which coincides with Foster Care Fortnight.
Many of our children in care simply need a loving family environment to support them, whether this is short term or long term and regardless of marital status, race or religion.Person:Ivan Ould, county council cabinet member for children and families
“We're encouraging people to get in touch if they are aged 21 or over, have a spare room and, most importantly, the devotion required to help a child.
The ‘find out about fostering’ events offer the chance to find out more. There will be the chance to have a chat with the fostering team over a cup of tea, and current foster carers will also be there.
