Work will start in the next few days on a pedestrian crossing scheme for an area of Hinckley.

The county council, in partnership with Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, will be carrying out the work  in Lancaster Road, outside The Crescent.

The work, due to start on 5th January, aims to improve pedestrian access to nearby amenities and provide a safe crossing point area.

“I’m delighted that work is set to start on building a zebra crossing, which will improve safety for pedestrians in Hinckley. We will endeavour to complete the work as quickly as possible, while keeping any disruption to a minimum. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Weather permitting, the works should take around three weeks to complete, with the majority of work taking place during off-peak hours (9am to 3.30pm) to reduce the chances of disruption for vehicles and pedestrian access along Lancaster Road will be maintained for the duration of the works.
