Work to create a £5.2m business park in Market Harborough is in full swing and set to be complete by the end of November.
Airfield Business Park on the B6047 north of the town, will create more than 200 jobs while boosting business and employment opportunities in the town and the local economy.
Once finished, the scheme will offer a range of high-spec industrial units to let ranging from 1,570 to 33,360 sq. ft. (145 to 3,099 sq. m.).
I’m delighted with the progress of this venture so far. This will have a positive impact on the town which is one of our top priorities, as well as boosting the local economy and creating jobs.
“Investing in property enables us to generate extra income which we can then plough back into frontline services.Person:Byron Rhodes, deputy leader of the county council
The land was purchased from our capital programme for the scheme, which is funded by proceeds of land and building sales.
Darroch Baker, construction managing director at J Tomlinson who have built the units, said: “We are pleased to have reached the final stages of construction of the next phase of Airfield Business Park and will be working closely with Leicestershire County Council to apply the finishing touches ahead of completion.
“We look forward to handing over the completed scheme and seeing the positive impact these new, high-specification industrial units has on the local economy over the coming years.”
Several companies have already shown an interest in renting the units, with six of the 12 units reserved by prospective tenants.
