Statement on country parks

Car parks now open, with social distancing signage in place

Nick Rushton, county council leader, has issued the following update about country parks and open spaces in Leicestershire.

Following the latest Government guidance issued earlier this week, we've been working through what this means for country parks to ensure people can enjoy our green spaces as part of their daily exercise.

“From today (Wed 13th May), we've started to re-open the car parks at our various sites, but playgrounds, toilets, cafes and other visitor facilities will remain closed until further notice.

“Our primary focus is to maintain safety and welfare for our residents, visitors and our staff. There will be signs in place in all of our parks reminding the public of the need to maintain social distancing.

"We hope that people will be responsible and once again enjoy the English countryside.
